John V. Cortesi, the new, award-winning Chef of the Four Points
by Sheraton Hotel in Meriden, has won accolades for his attention
to detail, careful selection of ingredients and flawless preparation
of innovative American cuisine, with Mediterranean and Asian
influences.
Prior to joining Four Points by Sheraton, Cortesi directed
the kitchen as Executive Chef of the Terra Mar Grille, the
Four Diamond restaurant and banquet facility at the Saybrook
Point Inn and Spa in Old Saybrook, Connecticut since 2001,
where he earned the prestigious Four Diamond Award in 2003
and 2004. While Cortesi was at Terra Mar Grille, where he
had also worked as Executive Sous Chef, Banquet Chef and Chef
de Cuisine, the New York Times praised the food, giving it
their “Very good” rating. Cortesi earned high
Zagat and Wine Spectator Ratings, participated in the Great
Chefs of New England Wine Dinner Series and the C.I.A. Pro
Chef Seminar for Mediterranean Cuisine.
